As part of the continuing efforts to provide scientific support to graduate students at Jordan and the MENA, the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) program in collaboration with the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) held a one-day work shop about Manuscript Writing and Research Integrity. The workshop was conducted on December, 24 at Salah Al-Deen auditorium.
The Workshop was presented by Dr.Fadia Mayyas, a fellow at the RCR program and Vice Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies at JUST. The goal of this workshop was to provide graduate students at our university with essential skills and principles in manuscript writing process, in addition to important ethical aspects of writing and publication, and the pitfalls associated with them. Dr. Mayyas provided a step wise guide to write a manuscript with strong interactive focus with participants. The workshop was attended by 70 current graduate students from different faculties including master students and residents.
The director of the RCR program in Jordan, Prof. Karem Alzoubi said that the workshop is supported by the RCR program that aims to train and mentor future educators and researchers in Jordan to enhance the research environment in Jordan and the Arab region. Dr. Fadia Mayyas added that these workshops are fundamental to increase our graduate students’ knowledge and skills of development of a research paper and prepare them for a successful career in research.
At the end of the workshop Prof. Karem Alzoubi distributed the certificates to the attendee.
