The UCSD Human Subjects Protection Program reviews all research involving human subjects for the University. As the Director of this program, I participate in ethical and regulatory review of research protocols, perform educational outreach to the University community and interact with comparable programs throughout the University of California and the United States. As a faculty member for more than twenty years at UCSD I have been actively involved in teaching and mentoring undergraduates, graduate students, medical students, residents and fellows.
